| This review has been sent in by Fiona (fifipoodlebum), and the photographs are supplied by Ruth, (totally_addicted_to_pja), both from the official Peter Andre forums. Ruth has also kindly supplied me with video clips of him singing All Cried Out and You Got Me Thinking. |

| After many hours of [im]patiently waiting the whole day I trundled up to my friends to pick her up at 4pm after checking 10 times over that I had my ticket, my contact lenses in, my glasses (just in case something horrible happened to my contacts and then I couldn’t see), spending hours straightening my hair, making sure that I had my little can of deodorant (because I didn’t want the same thing to me as that guy from the right guard advert…you know, the golfer gets the ball in the hole, he lifts up his arms, everybody falls to the floor choking, squirrels fall out of trees……you know the one), shaving my legs, trying to find something that would go with my specially made “Insania” vest top, checking I had the car keys, the car was still in the drive, my purse, my Blue Peter badges etc etc… |
Anyway, I got to my friends house, picked up my friend who was also very excited (although I think she was just being excited to humour me) and set off to the beautiful sound of Mr Andre booming out on the CD player. After lots of roadrageful moments on the M5 (mainly because lorries were being naughty and overtaking in the inside lane) we got off the motorway and then tried to navigate ourselves to the ICC which was fun I’ll tell you (even though you just stay on the same road until you get there).
Anyway, we got there, found a nice car park to park in (although it turned out to be not such a nice car park later on in the evening, something to do with the bumper and a pillar but I’ll explain about that later on), locked up the car and trundled off in search of some food. |

| Many cheeseburgers and fries later we trundled inside the building to squeal some more and have a sneaky peaky at the merchandise, which I ending up spending a lot of money on (a very beautiful wrist band that I have yet to take off other that when I need to shower and I swallowed my pride after swearing that never in my life would I buy a concert programme as they are a waste of money for the stuff that’s inside. I was very tempted to get a purple sparkly hat but I told myself that it wouldn’t go with my red skirt, although I did try to get Sarah to buy one instead). By this time, more people were starting to arrive and I was hopping from foot to foot in antici…………………pation. |
| |
| Well they finally opened the doors and we all rushed in like a heard of wilder beasts. The first thing that struck me was how nice the auditorium was (such nice seats with padded seats and backs) and it was all red and gold. I felt like a queen! My friend then went on the explain that the reason that they were padded was because of the acoustics and that it absorbs the sound rather than bounce it back to the stage…apparently they did a case study on the Birmingham Symphony Hall for A level Physics but I think she’s just a geek! |

After yet more waiting the lights went down, everybody screamed and twen2y 4 Se7en came out to sing a few songs. I must admit, there were quite amusing, especially the song “American Girls” oh, how I laughed!
Then Shakaya came on (two Aussie girls). They weren’t my kind of thing but their voices sounded strangely like Cleopatra! Then…. can you believe, they had a 20 minute interval! The cheek of it all, getting us all warmed up like that and then making us wait 20 minutes. I was outraged but it gave me an excuse to join the extensive queue to go to the toilets (again). Whilst I was doing what a girl’s got to do, I heard what sounded like loads of people screaming far away and though that Peter had come on before I had got back but then later realised that it was actually the door to the toilets! |

| After returning to our seats we joined in the chants of “we want Peter” and after what seemed like an eternity the lights went down and he came bounding on stage looking beautiful and sang “Flava” whist whipping the crowd up into a real frenzy. What a beaut! That was followed by “Ooh La La La” which didn’t help the crowd’s screams subside. He then sang “I feel You” which I have always loved and I was just gazing adoringly at the stage in awe and wonder whilst singing along and swaying from side to side. |
| |
He then sang “All Cried Out” and I don’t think I’ll be able to listen to that song again without stamping my feet down to the dum dum dum bits.
He then picked the tempo up again by singing “All About Us” which was just lovely, another firm favourite of mine. Next came “You Got Me Thinking” complete with bum wiggles which was nice but if I’m being brutally honest, it was nothing compared to Darius’ hip swings, but nice all the same, after all Peter Andre is an international legend and we all love it. However if I were doing bum wiggles I would have chosen less baggy trousers because it did make it look very funny. |
| |
Then he went on to say that he didn’t believe that everyone knew the words to all the songs on his new album and wanted someone to come up to prove him wrong.
Well every woman (and most of the men) in the building had their hands waving wildly in the air including mine even though I was sitting right at the back so there was no chance of me being picked.
|
|
|
| Instead some curly haired girl of about 15ish was chosen and I was glaring at her jealously but she seemed to enjoy herself and sang “Never Gonna Give You Up” with the man himself and he gave her a big hug and kiss afterwards. |
| |
| He then sang “Hotel California” which was beautiful and every time I here it now it just brings back all of the memories and gives me a nice warm feeling in the pit of my stomach. He went off half way through whist the band were playing and he was off for quite a long time…well as long as it takes for someone to have a costume change at least. He finished off the song and then sang “Natural” with all the original dance moves and my god, he’s still got it in him. My tongue was hanging out and I was nearly drooling… nice huh! |
| |
Next up he starts going on about Michael Jackson and how much of an inspiration he was to him then he sings a song by the Jackson 5 complete with everything but moonwalking (which I was disappointed about). Then he introduced the band and then he said his goodbyes, what a great audience we all were and leaves the stage! Just like that!
Just like that! And poor stupid little me was getting very upset because he hadn’t sung Mysterious Girl and I was screaming at the stage “you get back up there and sing Mysterious Girl, I haven’t travelled all this way and paid all this money for you not to sing it to me!” |
|
|
| |
| Well it obviously worked because he came out after that and sang “Untouchable” to raucous applause and then, well then he sang “Mysterious Girl” and I wasn’t just in 7th heaven, I must have flown straight past that and landed on 31st heaven or something because it was just so beautiful and I got a lump in my throat during that song. Whilst he was singing it, there was a girl who managed to climb up on stage and started gyrating with Peter and you could see all the security guards coming over and Peter just told them to go away, she was just enjoying herself. |
| |
Needless to say, I was very jealous of her as well but bless his little cotton socks!
He then had a quick costume change and came on with his jungle attire, had a little talk about the jungle but it was no good because we were already singing the chorus to the grand finale and screaming so loudly, it was great. He then started singing and all of the crowd were singing along, obviously still on the “Mysterious Girl” high. He had changed the words and instead of singing “This is Insania” he sang “You’re all Insania” and I had to agree with him, we weren’t just Insania, we were stark raving loonies but we were and still are proud of it. |
| |
We were still on a high when we eventually managed to calm down enough to remember where we had parked the car, the first thing I did when I got into the car was to put Insania on very loudly and the second thing I did was swing the bumper into the blasted pillar that was beside me.
Oooooooooooops! Stupid, but well worth it in the long run. On the way home the only thing I could say was “bless him” over and over again. |
