Peter told me he was going to be playing a gig on Saturday night and would I be able to make it, to take some photos and video for the site, which is what you will see on this page. A lot of the write-up has been done by Cazza.

We arrived at the venue and were told where to meet the rest of party, said our hello's and then went out the front to try and get a good position for photos.

Luckily inside the hall there was a great party atmosphere going on with most people in fancy dress and dancing away, we we managed to walk to the front of the stage.

Peter was due on at 11pm, and around then the DJ announced he was in the building and would be on soon. The large crowd of approximately 2500 people started to get a little impatient waiting for the star of the night, as the DJ played more music to pass the time.

Around twenty minutes later Peter was introduced to lots of cheers, screams and excitement from the crowd as the curtains opened to show the stage with a stepped platform in the middle. We could hear Peter's voice as he talked to us about taking us back to 1996, but could not see him to begin with. He emerged from the back of the stage and the first song he performed was his number one hit record 'Flava'. The crowd recognised the 1996 track and it went down fantastically well. Arms frantically waved around to the sound of ‘throw your hands up in the air’.

Watch a video clip of Peter singing Flava. (advise to keep sound low as sound quality is very poor)

Peter’s next track was one of his new songs which is on the website - 'Go'. He explained to the crowd that it is the new direction his music is taking. It is very upbeat and even though the crowd weren‘t familiar with the song, they seemed to love it. I was very impressed by the dance break that he had added.

'Ooh La La La' was Peter’s next song. He explained how he grew up with Kool and the Gang and that is was one of his favourite tracks. I think a few people knew this one due to it being on Peter’s album The Long Road Back and also the Kool and The Gang original. It was a perfect song for the theme of the evening.

In between songs he interacted with the audience, chatted about how he was amazed so many people had fitted in, took hats from people which he wore and gained a pair of comedy glasses that he had to remove for the next song for fearing that he couldn’t be taken seriously in them!

'Untouchable', another album track was his next song choice. This really showed his vocal ability and range and the crowd seemed to appreciate this. There was a loud cheer and he held one of the long notes towards the end of the song. He really is such a performer and whether it is an upbeat track or more of a ballad type song he seems to be able to wow a crowd.

Towards the end of Untouchable he noticed two men in the audience who had made a special tribute to him. One had written Peter on their chest and the other Andre. I think Peter was taken aback by their level of dedication and pulled them on stage to meet them and have their photo taken.

After meeting his two male fans he explained about the next song being written in the jungle and it was….'Insania'! The do-do-doos rained out and everyone joined in. At this point he knelt down to the crowd and was handed a whip by one of the girls who was dressed as a nun! He seemed to like his gift and handed it straight to Katie! Others must have sensed a theme because a set of handcuffs shortly followed and he also handed them to Katie!

He then introduced the last song of the night. The famous 'Mysterious Girl'. Again it is a classic that the crowd all know and love and Oh-ohs were sang by everyone.

Peter accompanied the song with a few of the dance moves that go along with the song. The fans know exactly what these are and won't be surprised to hear that it led to screams each time he did it.

All too soon the show had to end.

Peter said his goodbyes to the crowd and thanked them for being so great. As Peter left the stage you could hear the crowd shouting ‘more more more ...'.

A sure sign that the crowd had loved him.

After Peter had left the stage we spent some time with him and the rest of his party chatting and taking photos, some of which can be seen below.
