Pavilion Theatre - 23th June 2004

Peter Andre played at the Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth on June 23rd. The pictures below are taken from the This is Bournemouth website and the excellent write up has been done by Beckie.

Arrived at the pavilion theatre in Bournemouth on Monday 21st June 2004 to See Peter Andre in concert. As we walked in to the arena area it was so much smaller then I expected holding around 300 people. We found our seats and waited for the show to begin.

Finally 7.30 came and on came 24/7 a boy band who had just come back from supporting westlife on their world tour. They performed about 5 songs in total and weren't that bad. They got everyone up off their seats and dancing. Everyone was getting excited now as the time for peter to come on was getting nearer.

Next on stage were 2 girls called Shakaya from Australia came one. They were called Simone Stacey & Naomi Wenatong. They have platinum albums out in Australia and are hoping to start releasing songs over here. They sang 4 songs in total and were very good. We got to meet them at the end of the concert and they were very friendly as well.

When the girls went off stage everyone thought Peter would then come on stage but the lights came back on and we had to wait a further 20 minutes. A lot of people got refreshments and went to the toilet. You could tell now everyone was getting very excited. The people who were getting impatient started chanting Peter’s name over and over again and after what seemed like a lifetime the lights went down again and Peter’s band appeared on stage. The chants were getting louder and the atmosphere was amazing.

Peter’s brother Chris was in the band and Shakaya, the support act from earlier were peters backing singers.

Just seconds before Peter came on stage, we looked down the side and we saw that Katie Price was walking down to the front with her sister, Sophie and Harvey. Peter then came on stage from the right hand side. He was wearing a white top and white combat trousers. The audience went so mad and people started rushing to the front to get closer.

Although the security guards were soon to stop people and started sending them back to their seats. Including us!

Peter started by singing Flava, a song from his old album and then sang Ooh La La from his new album. It’s a song that was originally sang by is he wearing eyeliner and the gang and Peter explained that it was one if his favourite songs that why it is on his new album. Peter spent a lot of time talking to his audience, which was really good. He told us all how well his albums did and he said that he was so great full for all the support he had received.

The next song he did was “I Feel You”. At the front of the stage there was a little platform and Peter jumped down on to this and was holding hands with the people in the front row of the audience. People were rushing to the front again but got stopped.

Between the songs peter started to take his top off. The audience screamed the loudest that night but much to every ones disappointment he only took off his top to reveal a black vest top but he looked very fit! He then sang All Cried Out.

Then Peter said it was time for him to do some Latino dancing, it was great and very funny! Peter looked very sexy wiggling his bum while he performed “You’ve Got Me Thinking”

He then talked about his new album. He asked if everyone knew the songs from it and that he would be picking one person from the audience to go on stage and sing with him. Of course the crowd went mad with people screaming to be picked. Peter sent his manager out in to the audience and she picked a girl called Jo who was about 29 to go on stage. Peter was really nice to her and she sang with him and got kisses from him, which made a lot of girls in the crowd very jealous! Jo sat on a stool in the middle of the stage and Peter sang around her. It was great to see that Peter cares so much about his fans.

Peter then got his brother Chris up to the front of the stage and they did a duet together. They sang Hotel California by the Eagles and it was fantastic. After the song Peter went off stage and Chris was left playing a solo on his guitar. Peter then returned on stage wearing a silver tracksuit with the zip pulled down half way down his chest. It received a lot of whistles from the girls!

He then sang “Lonely” and then “Natural” Peter danced what’s called the hang man dance to this song which was very entertaining to watch.

He said it was how people danced a very long time ago! Peter is a great dancer and looks great on stage doing all these dance moves!

Peter then started talking about who his biggest influences have been. It was of course Michael Jackson. He performed one of Michael’s songs “Shake Your Body (down to the ground)”. He did some Michael style dance moves and got the audience up off their seats to join in.

Peter then introduced the band to everyone and they each did a little solo. Peter then said the show was over and everyone cleared the stage. After about 5 minutes and chants of “Peter, Peter, Peter” the band returned followed closely by Peter dressed in blue jeans and a yellow T-shirt. He then sang “Untouchable”

Peter then started talking about how “Mysterious Girl” had entered him in to the Guinness book of records because he had released it 3 times and he had become the only artist to have done this. Then came the time for Peter to sing “Mysterious Girl” which was the best part of the evening as this is my favourite song. It was fantastic.

Peter then went off stage again and came back dressed in his jungle outfit of the red waist coat and jungle hat, which he wore while in the jungle. He told us about his experiences of being in there and how he never ever expected anything as big as this when he came out.

He told us that while he was in the jungle he wrote “Insania” one night when everyone was asleep, at the mention of Katie’s name a big scream went up and everyone cheered, which made Peter look really happy!

He asked the audience to sing the “do do do’s” bit of the song and everyone joined in. Half way through the song Peter changed the words from “this is Insania” to “your all Insania” The whole of the Pavilion was singing and I don’t think they was one person sitting down.

Peter then thanked everyone and he said that hopefully if we’d have him he might be back at Christmas. Peter then left the stage and the show ended. I think everyone was impressed with the concert and everyone enjoyed it.

We decided to run around to the stage door and we got a space right at the front. We waited out side in the cold for Peter to come out to his car. After about 45 minutes the door opened and people started screaming, Katie’s sister Sophie came out with Harvey and this other lady who said she was a friend of Katie’s. they waited in the car and after about an hour and 20 minutes Katie and Peter came out.

They both waved at everyone and Peter shouted thank you and hellos and people. They then drove away with about 10 girls chasing after the car. Peter put his window down and my friend and me managed to get to the car and hold his hand, which just made the evening prefect.

Overall the evening was amazing and I would definitely go to see Peter in concert again.
