The Zone - 10th December 2005 |

On Saturday 10th December Peter headed to my part of the country to do a club PA in Medway, Kent. He was playing at The Zone in Gillingham after travelling down from appearing on The X-Factor.
He arrived just after midnight with wife Katie and brother Michael in tow. This page will contain thoughts and pictures from the people that I went with - Hilary, Katie, Cazza and myself. |
| |
Katie: I nearly ended up not going but at the last minute arranged to go and meet up with Debs, Hilary and Cazza, who were all really lovely.
We went straight into the club without any trouble, got our drinks and headed towards the dance floor, wondering where it was that Peter would be performing, as there was nowhere that stood out as a stage. We soon realised that he would be performing on an area of the dance floor that was stepped up. We stayed to the side of the dance floor gradually moving to the middle of the dance floor to ensure that we got a good spot to be able to see Peter.
As it was my first time seeing Peter perform live I was really excited and couldn’t wait to see him.

| At about 12.30 they announced that peter would be on in around 10 minutes. The area that Peter would be performing on had to be cleared which meant that everyone had to move towards us and resulted in a lot of pushing. We managed to hold onto our spots at the front somehow. We saw Peter’s pa on the stairs so knew that he would be appearing any minute. When he started coming down the stairs it resulted in a lot more pushing with everyone trying to get closer to him. |
| |
He opened with 'Oh La La (Let's Go Dancing)' which was really good and had people singing along as they would have known the Kool and the Gang version.
He then said that he was going to try something new by mixing two songs together. The two songs were Adamski's 'Killer' and Terence Trent D'arbys ' Sign Your Name'. The mix sounded really good together.
I noticed that Katie was singing along to the songs. |
| |
Peter then started to speak to the crowd about the X-Factor which is where he had just come from asking who we thought was going to win.
He then sang a song that I had only heard a little bit of which was 'Go'. I’d wanted to hear it for a while and after hearing it in full I thought it was really good.
He then ended with one that everybody knows, Mysterious Girl and I think nearly everyone was singing along to it.
Then his performance came to an end, which had gone so quickly and he said goodbye and that he was going to have a quick drink before leaving.

| Cazza: Wahay! Time for another Peter Andre PA! This time at Gillingham in Kent. Not to bad because I know where Debs lives and knew it was somewhere near there. I had driven to Debs in the afternoon and had a lovely evening watching X Factor which Peter and Katie were at. |
| |
Before long it had got to 10pm and it was time to leave to go to Gillingham. Hilary’s chauffeur as we liked to call him had picked us up. When we arrived at the club we waited in the car for Katie (another forum member). It was lovely to finally meet her and have her join our madness!
We went straight to the doors avoiding the queue, following Debs. She had worked some magic to get us in quick. When we entered the club we were met by a woman in a red fluffy bikini and cowboy boots holding a tray of marshmallows! She must have been absolutely freezing. We told her that we wanted to put our coats round her! I felt so sorry for her and I think she deserves a mention for her sheer bravery!! |

We whiled away the hours trying to talk in the noisy club and me being chatted to by a certain persistent Kosovan gentleman who needed to pay a visit to the dentist! Why always me!! Why?!
It got to about 12.30 and after a bit of pushing and shoving we heard the beginning of 'Ooh La La La' as Peter bounded down the stairs. This has become a personal favourite as it reminds me of the summer shows and club PA’s he did. It is a song for all seasons though as it sounded terrific and by the end the crowd were singing it back to him.
Second track was fantastic. He mixed two tracks together. Adamski’s ‘Killer’ and Terence Trent D'arbys 'Sign Your Name'. The two sounded SO good together and it is clever how he thought to do that. Well done Peter! I hope other people at PA’s get to hear it as it was seriously good. Before the next track he talked to the crowd about the new drinking laws and asked them what they thought. Don’t think they were too opposed to it!

Third track was ‘Go’ which he wrote recently and has sang at a few PA’s. I will never tire of it. Always sounds brilliant and is such a funky track. Still stand by what I have said before in that it should be released.
Before he stared his final song he explained how earlier in the evening he and Katie had been to the X-Factor. Peter then asked the crowd who their favourites were. Seemed to be a lot of Shane and Andy fans. Not so many for Journey South. |
| |
The final track was the classic Mysterious Girl. As he says ’the song just won’t go away.’ And why should it? The crowd loved it and sang it extremely loudly and joined in the ’Oh-oh’s’ It finished off a really good night.
As always Peter was superb. Only problem is it is always over too quickly! Before long he was away up the stairs with Katie and Michael his brother. The night is never over there and after a meeting with parked cars, (the girls will know what I am on about!) on the homeward journey we couldn’t get pass a car that was on fire. So a late night 999 call to the fire brigade is always fun!!
Like all Peter’s PA’s we had a great time and a laugh. Roll on the next one! (At least no one got lost this time! And it didn’t involve car parks! We are improving!) |
