| The day had finally arrived: July 3rd 2004. After 6 months of waiting it was finally here, the day of the Peter Andre concert. We left for Leicester at 3:30 in the afternoon, stopping for a Mc Donalds on the way. All the way there we talked about nothing else except Peter, we couldn't wait. We arrived at De Montfort hall at around 6 o clock. Doors weren't open till 7 but we could still go in and wait inside. The first thing we did was buy merchandise, which I might add wasn't as expensive as I expected it to be. I spent £10 and brought a program, small signed poster & a tag with a picture of Peter on to wear. At 7 o' clock everyone rushed into the stage area. We couldn't believe that just behind the stage would be Peter Andre. We sat down in our seats (only 7 rows from the front) and waited. First on was 24/7 followed by Shakaya, followed by an interval and then (finally) we would get to see the man we had come for: Peter Andre. |
| As it reached 7:30 pm the lights went off and 24/7 took to the stage. They were extremely good and definitely got the crowd jumping. The screams were deafening and the cheeky lads made sure we had a good time. Everyone loved their song American Girls, a definite number 1 for the lads. |
| As 24/7 left the stage, Shakaya entered. Shakaya aren't really known in the UK but Peter assured us that they were one of the best girl groups in Australia. My favourite song was Cinderella, it was extremely catchy. Shakaya were also on while Peter was on as back-up singers. The support acts were good but as the interval started we sat eagerly anticipating Peter. There wasn't long left to wait. |

| Eventually the interval finished and as everyone looked at their watches we all knew what time it was, 8:30 = Peter Andre time! The lights went off and as the hall erupted in screams Peter jumped onto the stage and wasted no time in singing his first track - Flava (1of his first hits). He was wearing a red top & white trousers & looked amazing. I couldn't believe it, we were watching Peter Andre perform and it was amazing. As Flava finished Peter welcomed us all to his concert and said we were an amazing crowd - obviously. As Peter was talking to us we noticed someone being brought in at the top, who should it be but Peter's girlfriend Katie Price and her son Harvey. I felt sorry for her as people stared at her a lot as she played with Harvey and watched Peter, but it didn't seem to bother her. Both Peter and Katie were looking very tanned. |
Peter sang some of his old hits including Flava, Natural, Lonely, All Night All Right and many more. He also sang some songs off his new album, The Long Road Back, including You Got Me Thinking, Never Gonna Give You Up, The Right Way, Untouchable and others. When he sang Never Gonna Give You Up he asked if anyone wanted to go onto the stage and sing with him, but at that point we didn't know which song he meant. As you can imagine the hall erupted with screams of YES!!!!!! & PICK ME!!!!!!! Then he added but there's a catch: you have to have my new album so that whatever song I pick off it you can sing, so who has my new album?

| Then he added but there's a catch: you have to have my new album so that whatever song I pick off it you can sing, so who has my new album? The hall still erupted with screams of me me!!!!!! Liars, he remarked. Peter sent one of his helpers to pick someone. The lady he did pick had been to seven shows, boy you must be bored he told her but she replied with no! They sang the song well together and when she put his arm round him it had Katie Price in stitches. |
Peter also sang an Eagles song and one from the Jacksons. When he sang You Got Me Thinking he showed us all how he can butt-shake like Ricky Martin. Boy can that man dance!!!!!!!!!! He constantly stared at Katie through the show and gave everyone a night to remember. He sang with his brother on one of the songs (the Eagles one) and did constant wardrobe changes, looking sexy in every outfit.
He left the stage about half way through saying it was the end, we all knew it wasn't and screamed for him to come back, he did & sang his recent hits Mysterious girl & Insania.

| By this time most of the girls in the tiered stalls section had rushed to the front of the stage hoping to get a handshake, or even a kiss from the man himself (and most did). I was about an inch away from touching him but he did stop, read my poster, say I like it and give me a thumbs up which meant a lot to me. My poster said Peter 4 Katie and had lots of pictures of them together. Everyone joined in as he sang Mysterious Girl but then he went off again for one last costume change, talking to us as he did. |
| He came back on in his I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! jungle uniform (including the hat). De Montfort hall went mental as he started to sing Insania. But before he gave us a speech on how he came up with this song. He explained how when everyone had gone to bed, including Katie Price (everyone chanted with you) he had to do something and he wrote songs, this is how Insania was made. He said how it was weird how it had become a hit before it had been made a song. Then he started singing and EVERYONE joined in. He kept changing the end to you are insane! so we sung that back to him. He started to take his top off to show his famous 6-pack and pecs but stopped half way, said he was shy and carried on with the song. He kept the song going and so did we as we knew that when this song finished it was the end of the concert. |
|
|
Peter but some bunny ears on and pranced around the stage saying how can I call you insane when I'm wearing these, Oh well it's just a lotta lotta fun.
With one last chorus of Insania the concert ended and people started filing out of De Montfort hall. I couldn't believe that it was over just like that, I can't wait to hopefully get the chance to go to another one.
Although its over now it was the best day of my life and definitely the best concert ever by far, Peter if you ever read this thank you. It was amazing and so are you! |
