Xscape - 6th August 2005 |
| |
| A review of the Milton Keynes beach party from Hilary and the photos are from Lili. |
| |
Saturday 6th August, a beautiful Summer’s day and what made it more special was that I was going to see Peter perform today at Milton Keynes . I had not seen Peter perform in over 3 months, so I was very excited! |
| |
| I had arranged to meet the “crew” (Debs and Lili) with Cazza at “Xscape” in Milton Keynes . As they were travelling up from Essex , I was not sure what time to set off as I am only approximately fifty minutes from Milton Keynes and obviously the “crew” would take longer. I decided to leave around 10.00am as, using both the M25 and M1 could be a problem on a Saturday morning. Much to my surprise I had an easy journey up to Milton Keynes and arrived at approximately 11.00am , which I thought was good, considering that I had to find “Xscape.” |
| |
I parked up in the car park, near to the entrance, so that Debs, who was driving, would easily find me when she drove through. After about 15 minutes, I received a text from Lili, saying “ Hilary we are so late. Tis my fault I think. We’ll be there as soon as we can.” That was at 11.16am . At 12.13pm Lili sent another text to say they should not be too much longer! So I waited and waited and then at 12.40pm another text, saying traffic very bad. Eventually at 1.15pm Debs drove into the car park! They were just over two hours late, but it did not matter, I understand these things like traffic and not knowing what to wear (Lili)!
|
| |
I got out of the car and went over to say hello to Cazza . It was lovely to meet another forum member and not forgetting one of our younger members Lucas. I was most impressed Lucas was wearing his Peter Andre t-shirt, I felt jealous and wanted one! |
| |
We walked into the Xscape building and our first priority was to find where Peter would be performing at the Beach Party. We walked through the centre until we noticed some doors, leading to outside and what appeared to be the Beach Party. There was a “man-made beach” in a small enclosure, with buckets and spades and a stage with plastic Palms! Well they did try! Debs approached a guy and asked what time Peter would be performing. They said around 3.00pm . We decided to get some lunch and made our way back into the Centre. |
| |
| After lunch we made our way back outside to where the Stage was. In front of the stage was a large carpet, so we decided to sit down on it, so that we could get a good view of Peter when he came on!
After about five minutes one of the organisers told us to move from the carpet as it was for the Acrobatics who would be performing soon! Acrobatics, we just wanted to see Peter! The Acrobatics who were called The Black Eagles performed their stuff. They wore skin tight lyrca suits and were very good.
By now the crowd had grown considerably and young girls were shouting we want Peter Andre! |
|
|
| |
At this point a “Pirate” took to the stage and was asking “who wants to see Peter?”. The crowd responded and eventually we were all singing along to Mysterious Girl. He had a competition going saying that someone could meet Peter Andre, they just had to build a sand castle! Some people rushed over to the beach area, but there was no-way any of us was going, as we were in the centre front row! Eventually Pirate Stephen took four ladies to the stage. He got them individually to sing parts of Mysterious Girl and then the audience had to cheer who they thought was the best. A young girl was picked and then taken off the stage. |
| |
| Then the moment had arrived that we were all waiting for. Peter took to the stage, with his brother Michael and Katie. Katie made her way to the back of the stage and Michael moved to the side of the stage. |
| |
| Peter looked gorgeous in his jeans, navy timberlands, white shirt with pink writing on and his hair was just as I like it, SPIKEY! He immediately sang a new song called GO, which I have heard before from his PA performances and I must say is very good.
His next song was one of his favourites - 'Ooh La La La'. At the end of this song he said he wanted to watch a movie and someone from the crowd shouted 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. He went on to say he did like it but didn't like the Oompa Loompas but then added 'why are we having this conversation?' |
|
|
| |
| Peter recognised the “crew” because he came over to the centre of the stage and was looking right into their cameras, which was good as I could then see Peter very close up! |
| |
|
| |
All the time Peter was singing, Katie was on her phone in the background, Peter did tell her to get off the phone, but she just smiled and carried on with her phone conversation!
The next song was All Time Girl, which he said he wrote for his Princess and as he said this he turned to Katie. He said it was a nice song and encouraged us to listen to the words of it. As he sang it he kept glancing over to Katie. |
| |
| After this he spoke a little of his jungle experience and this then led into the song Insania, which the crowd responded to and happily joined in. He said it was one of those songs that had to be done. |
| |
| He ended his show with the song that won't go away - 'Mysterious Girl'. He said it went to number one and sold over 2 million copies around the world and that it raised £175,000 for the NSPCC. He had a man called Dennis from the steel drum band play along with him. |
| |
The crowd loved it and everyone was singing along.
He finished by saying it was great fun and nice to see us all. People in the crowd were saying they wanted to hear more but Peter said he didn't bring any others with him and he didn't want to bore the people who didn't want more.
As he left the stage he picked Katie up and carried her off! |
 |
|
| |
Our Pirate friend then came back on stage and announced that Peter would be doing a signing inside the Centre. I did not know Peter was doing this, so it was exciting to think I was now going to have a few words with the “man” himself. |
| |
| We all went inside the centre and joined the queue which was not very long. I could see Peter’s brother Michael standing by the table and Katie was sitting on a chair, away from the table. |
| |
They were letting a couple of people at a time to speak to him, so Debs, Lili and Lucas went first.
Of course he knows these two very well and they chatted for some time and also got a few things signed. Peter then signed a balloon that Lucas was holding, and then he let the balloon go and Peter climbed on the chair to get it!
As soon as Peter gave it back to Lucas he managed to let it go again, this time the security man got it down for him.
Peter called Lucas a 'cheeky monkey' which made him laugh. |
 |
| |
| Then it was time for Cazza and I to go. Michael said “hello” and
asked how we were. Peter was sitting at the table and he looked up. He said that he recognised us, which was nice to hear, and we said that we were with Debs and Lili. He told us that he was not feeling well and nearly cancelled!
I congratulated him on baby Junior and wished him all the best for the wedding. Cazza then asked for me to take a photo of her and Peter. |
|
|
I was annoyed as I did not have a camera, so I have no photos of this fantastic day, but I have the memories that will never fade. |
| |
|
We stayed in the centre until Peter left and then we made our way back to the car park. We noticed their brand new Aston Martin parked up in the staff car park, what a beautiful car, for a beautiful couple! It had been a fantastic day, Peter had performed brilliantly, even though he had not been feeling well. I just cannot wait to see him perform again. I just hope that I do not have to wait too long.! |
| |
Thanks to Debs, Lucas, (who was such a good boy and a credit to you, Debs), Lili, Cazza and of course Peter! |
