City Hall - 8th July 2004 |

The following review comes from a BBC Website.

From a first view, there were mostly teenagers and younger kids with their mums, and most of them were female in the audience.

The concert started at 7:00pm with the hall nearly full. Just before the starting act everybody was cheering and chorusing "Peter, Peter, Peter…" but then the first act came on, four boys called "24/7." They got the audience on their feet with a bit of rock.

After them, two girls (Naomi and Simone) who together were called "Shakaya," came on. They didn't have as much response, but were still good and apparently were number one back in Australia. They did some pop and were brilliant rappers.

After the starting acts had finished, we waited about 35 minutes for Peter Andre, but in that time "24/7" made an appearance towards the doors and everyone rushed over to see them and get their autographs. They were swamped with people, especially girls.

When everyone assembled back to their seats the chorus started back up again, "Peter, Peter, Peter…" Then he came on and everyone jumped from their seats and screamed.

Before introducing any songs, Peter apologised for being late. When he started up he did a few songs including "Lets Go Dancing" and then had a change of costume, to white shirt and black pants.

Then he did some more songs, "You Got Me Thinking" and "Hotel California," (a duet with his brother Chris who also played the guitar) and then one of Peter's other brothers picked a girl out of the audience who was meant to sing on the mic with Peter but could only manage to hum.

He then changed again, to a blue top and white trousers, his backing singers, Naomi and Simone ("Shakaya"), were wearing skirts and little black tops.

After a few more songs, as well as one from his inspiration, Michael Jackson, we were told that was the end.

Peter went back inside while we were all cheering for him as we thought the show might be over, but we were soon delighted when Peter came back out again with yellow top, ripped jeans and brown shoes with an eagle accessory on his belt.

He sang two more songs, including "Untouchable". Then he sang "Mysterious Girl" which had been in the charts at number four in 1995, number two in 1996 and of course, number one in 2004.

He went and got changed again and came out with his "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" clothes on to sing "Insania," a top hat, jeans and red sweatshirt. Most people ran to the front (as the security guards didn't stop you this time) to see Peter's last song for the night.

The concert finished at 11:15 instead of 10:30 when it was meant to finish. Overall, the night was brilliant, really cool and everyone enjoyed it and came home with a good experience. It wouldn't be a surprise if everyone who went had a headache, earache and felt very tired!!!
