Peter Andre 2005 Official Site

UEA - 1st July 2004

Peter Andre played at the UEA in Norwich on Thursday 1st July. Girlfriend Katie Price was not on this date as she has a prior engagement for a book signing in Bournemouth.
This write-up has been done by Amy of Norwich.

I'd had a hard day, didn't really fancy standing at a concert all night. I didn't really know what to expect from Pete. I hadn't been too impressed with the album and hadn't seen much of Pete since the jungle so was beginning to forget what had gotten me so infatuated!

I was pleasantly surprised by the support acts, especially 24/7...what a cool little group they seem! Was also impressed by the 2 girls, loved the MC! So, by this point I was quite happy with what I'd seen already.

Nothing could prepare me for Peter though. I'd always thought he was fit, but seeing him up close was amazing. He's just beautiful, and reminds me of lyrics from Christina Aguilera's song...Infatuation...

He comes from a foreign place
An island far away
Intrigues me with every move
Til' I'm breathless, I'm helpless
Can't keep my cool...
Skin the color of cinnamon
His eyes light up and I melt within
Feels so good it must be a sin
I can't stop what I started
I'm giving in
He brings life to my fantasies
Sparks a passion inside of me
Finds the words when I can not speak
In the silence, his heartbeat is music to me

He has the most gorgeous smile, and his clothes really complimented his body. He opened up with Flava, with a brilliant routine. All the songs were great, and I loved the way he had a bit of a ramble and kept getting worried about boring us!! As if!!! He seemed genuinely touched by the reception, considering you couldn't get many people in the room. The show went really quickly, I loved Hotel California - how talented is his brother?!

Dance and Shout (Michael Jackson's Shake Your Body) was brilliant, everyone was going mad to it.
When Pete came back for Mysterious Girl everyone was singing with him and it was great seeing him look sooo happy!

It was really funny when he came on in his sexy jungle gear for Insania, and before he had much chance to introduce it, we were all singing it to him...and he looked quite choked up! The song seemed to go forever but I was gutted when he finally left the stage.

After the brilliant show, we headed to the stage door, along with a lot of others. Me and my mate ended up chatting to one of the tour managers, he told us Pete can't stop and talk because its dangerous, even though he'd loved to. There was an accident at a show and Pete's terrified about fans getting hurt. Bless him, he also said Katie couldn't make that gig so he'd be leaving alone. He said that the Norwich crowd were one of the loudest so far! I told this guy that Pete was just about better than Justin Timberlake in concert and he said he would tell him...

We made our way to Pete's car when he came out, and obviously he didn't stop but we got a wave and a smile so I was chuffed!

It was a great night, I was so impressed by Pete's talent, voice and loveliness!

Peter Andre fever hits city

HUNDREDS of screaming girls went insania yesterday when king of the jungle Peter Andre dropped into town.

Hours before he went on stage at the University of East Anglia's LCR venue scores of teenyboppers were lining up, ticket in hand, to see their idol.

For most of them it was their first ever concert, but one they would never forget as Peter belted his hits old and new including Flava, Mysterious Girl and Insania.

But before the concert two lucky girls had the chance to meet the star — sisters Jasmine and Amber Thompson.

Jasmine, 15, won an Evening News competition to meet the six-packed one and the two girls turned faces green with envy as they walked to the front of the queue and into their specially arranged meeting.

Peter also had a chat with the Evening News and said everything changed after he came out of the Australian jungle where he appeared on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

He said: "I came out and I just hit it big. What happened to me was a one in a billion chance."

He claims that co-star John Lydon, aka, Johnny Rotten could have been the inspiration for his latest hit Insania.

"It might have been the state of John's teeth that made me come up with the idea for the song," he said.

"But he really taught me to listen to nature and that made me think of how people are too involved in technology and computers and things like that. Everything has gone completely crazy and that led to Insania."

He said recent stories about his model girlfriend, Katie Price, aka, Jordan being pregnant, were lies.

The couple met on the TV programme and have been seeing each other ever since.

He said: "The pregnancy stuff is just presumption. It led her to start asking me if I thought she had got fat. And I'm telling her she looked fine.

"She usually comes along on my shows but had to miss out this time because of other commitments. She has been great and really supportive, she even took a month off so she could be with me."

But he said the constant travelling was beginning to take its toll.

"We are living on aeroplanes at the moment. The last time I did a tour was seven years ago when I was 24. I'm 31 now and it has really been a shock to the system."

During the interview, 15-year-old Jasmine, from Sprowston High School, looked awe-struck.

But her 17-year-old sister, Amber came to her aid and the girls went away with photographs and autographs.

Amber said: "He looked a lot more sexy in real life. We didn't know what to say to him. But he was really nice to us and was genuine and wanted to talk to us."

This review is from a BBC website - Comeback king Peter Andre surprised a cynical Lee Allen with a gig to be proud of.

When Peter Andre went into the jungle for TV's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, the whole country sat up, pointed a finger and let out a cynical laugh.

Years before when Peter was having hits, he was never the coolest kid on the block and it was always a bit too easy to poke fun.

But look at him now: number one hits, a sellout tour, a new album and the ultimate celebrity girlfriend, Jordan.

You can also add to that list a surprisingly entertaining stage show. Yes, it pains me to say it but Peter Andre was pretty good.

The mainly female crowd would have been happy to see him sing nursery rhymes just because he is Peter Andre.

But boy oh boy was I in for a shock. As the lights when down and a huge cheer went up Peter's band hit the stage (yes, band!) who were hotly followed by the man himself.

The ladies in the house went into orbit, waving their glow sticks and screaming like The Beatles had just touched down.

To top it all off Peter’s voice is fairly good. I half expected him to be miming so the sight of a full live band and Peter Andre singing made me take a few steps back.

On stage he reminded me of Max Headroom, the '80s computer generated TV presenter.

The chiselled square jaw, the dark skin and a strange choice in dance moves didn’t help that comparison, but hey the girls loved him.

Every twirl and every bounce along the stage was greeted with the same shrieks and in between songs a deathly hush fell on the crowd.

Among the underwear-throwing, the biggest cheers of the night were saved for the biggest hits Flava, Insania and everyone’s favourite wedding sway Mysterious Girl.

At the end of the night as the crowd left - stopping only to buy Andre underwear, photos, mugs and more glow sticks - the overall opinion was a big thumbs up.

And personally he seems a jolly nice bloke whose voice ain't all that bad. Well done Mr Andre, well done.
